The award began at Super Trowel, recognising the best bricklayer in the trade. As SuperTrades brings every trade onto one stage, the honour opens up with it.
Bricklayers, carpenters, stonemasons, roofers, plant operators and every trade that builds Britain are now eligible. There is one recipient each year, chosen on merit from across the whole industry.
How it works

Nominate
Anyone can put a name forward: colleagues, apprentices, employers, customers or family.

Shortlist
A panel drawn from across the trades, joined by past recipients, reviews every nomination and agrees a shortlist.

Presented
The recipient is honoured live on the main stage at the SuperTrades Grand Final, in front of the whole industry.
